I’m really mad with this stupid comment of j-music-confessions. I work hard but still can’t afford all those albums from my favourite artists. If I could get all those stuff, of course I would choose to support them, but I can’t and this doesn’t make me a lazy person. This comment just prove how small your mind is.

Yeah well…..some people aren’t even old enough to get a job. And others aren’t paid enough or have a family to sustain…and yet all these people still love music and want to listen to it. And when it comes to Japanese music, ordering stuff from Japan costs twice as much as it would cost you to walk into your neighborhood’s store and buy a CD.
So are you telling me that, if faced with the option to illegally download something or to not listen/watch it at all, you wouldn’t chose to download?
What I hate is people who say ‘You’re a sucker for buying this when you can download it online!’. This, I do hate. I like buying CDs, DVDs, merchandise….I’m happy to support the artists I love and even happier to own a real CD/DVD/whatever on my hands. And I do think that all these people who work to produce an album deserve the money.
But on the other hand, I’m not rich. Hell, I’m currently unemployed because the economy in my country is fucked. Does that mean I should give up on listening to music or watching movies or whatever? So long as we are talking about Japanese music, it’s not as if I can turn on my radio and listen to it….
And anyway, I wouldn’t ever be able to buy all of the things I want to listen or watch. I’m not willing to limit the music I listen to only to 2-3 bands whose CDs I can buy. Oh and….iTunes and other such sites won’t let you buy Japanese songs if you are living abroad so it’s not as if I can buy individual tracks either.
So yeah….supporting the artists you love when you can is awesome. I whole heartedly agree. Thinking that people who buy things are suckers just because everything is more or less available for download are just stupid. And yet, when faced with the option ‘download or not listen/watch sth at all’ everyone’s still going to pick ‘download’…
